Panic Away How Can You Tell If Your Anxiety Is Out Of Hand

Everybody has some anxiety, but if your anxiety is constant and never seems to let up, you may have a problem. If you can trace your nervousness to some specific cause, it is easy to deal with it in a healthy way. But when you feel anxiety and tension all the time, and for no reason whatsoever, you may have a problem. There are sometimes physical symptoms like rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath or tightness in the chest.

When this anxiety starts interfering with family life, work or school, it's time to do something about it. Like depression, anxiety can even affect the things that we enjoy doing. Even when doing what relaxes you usually, like soaking in a bath or watching a good movie, you may still feel this tension.

Often, severe anxiety leads to sleeping problems. Anxiety sufferers have trouble concentrating, and it is sometimes accompanied by depression. Many sufferers report that they have a feeling like they're "going crazy," and not in control of things.

If you feel this way, you're not alone. Many people suffer from anxiety and it's not a sign that you're losing your mind. There are treatment options available, and there are easy things you can do to relieve tension and beat your anxiety problem.

A Little Exercise To Treat Anxiety

One of the simplest and most effective self-treatments is exercise. You may not be an athletic person or a gym-goer, but it doesn't matter. Even a little simple exercise for a few minutes a day can help.

Have you ever gotten wound up or angry and gone on a long walk? A long walk is a great way to relax yourself. Take a walk around the neighborhood, or explore someplace new, and try to get your mind off your troubles.

Jogging is even better. If you can get your heart pumping and your sweat glands working, this great for any kind of stress relief. It doesn't have to be strenuous, but just enough to get you huffing and puffing.

Any physical activity that you enjoy will help fight anxiety. Sports are a great way to relieve stress, as well as swimming and running. Working out is also a great exercise for stress relief.

Exercise works well in fighting anxiety because it releases that adrenaline. It also releases endorphins in the brain that work like a drug, making your body feel good. One more benefit of exercise is that it gets you outside among people. Many anxiety sufferers also feel a sense of isolation and loneliness. They feel that they want to stay indoors. Exercising gets you out in the world doing something.

Start small and don't overwhelm yourself with a rigorous exercise schedule. Some people find that joining a gym or other group activity helps to motivate them. It's also good to have some sort of social activity, so that you don't feel withdrawn and alone.

Anxiety is an everyday occurrence, but it can become a major problem if it gets out of hand. Little things like exercising, eating right and practicing some form of meditation can go a long way in fighting anxiety. Try a little exercise and see how it works for you.
