Breathing Through Anxiety

I know this may surprise you, but we all get anxious sometimes.

Anxiety is usually a sign that we are not living in the moment.

Perhaps we're planning our day, thinking about our next meeting, or how much money we spent on the latest electronic gadget (which will make our life so much simpler), but we're worried about our next rent check clearing the bank. We're just not in the now.

Learn to recognize the signs of anxiety approaching. Then, utilize the following breath technique to come back to the present moment.

  • Relax your shoulders.
  • Breath in through your nose into your lower belly & pause...for a couple of seconds.
  • Breath out completely through your mouth & pause for a couple of seconds.
  • Repeat until your feel better.
  • The pauses between the breaths are key to the effectiveness of this exercise. Try it the next time you begin feeling those butterflies in your stomach.

We'd love to hear what you thought of the exercise. Contact us.
