Breathing Tranquility

This exercise is extremely simple to perform and can be done anytime and anywhere. It's almost like mantra or an affirmation. It's power is in the repetition and quality of breathing. The purpose of a mantra is to bring a specific quality to yourself like calmness, love, peace, tranquility.

You can even focus on a specific divinity to bring about the qualities of that being like Buddha, Jesus, or whomever.

Choose the quality or divinity you'd like to embody. Below are some examples:

  • Radiant Peace
  • Perfect Calm
  • Infinite Love
  • Joyful Confidence
  • Buddha
  • Jesus
  • Begin breathing from your belly while whispering the first word or syllable that you've chosen and make it last the full, slow in breath.

Exhale whispering the last word or syllable you've chosen.

    In breath: Raaadiiaaannt

    Out breath: Peeeeaccce

    or

    In breath: Buuuuuuu

    Out Breath: ddddhhaaaaaaa

Your breaths should last approximately 4 seconds on the inhale and 4 seconds on the exhale.

You can also practice this technique at work or in a crowed place silently by splitting your attention. Try to keep a little part of your attention on your breath and chosen quality.
