Cortisol, The Stress Hormone

Cortisol is usually called "the stress hormone" as it is released in times of stress and anxiety. It is responsible for increasing blood pressure, blood sugar and reducing the bodies immune response.

Small doses of Cortisol can have positive effects of the body:

  • Increased memory functionality
  • Increased immunity
  • Higher pain threshold
  • Prolonged exposure to Cortisol can lead to:
