Disc Golf

Man playing disc golf

Disc golf is very similar to golf. It's very easy to learn. Essentially you try to get the disc into the basket in the least amount of throws. It's much easier than traditional golf, however.

Disc golf gets you outdoors so you can get some sun, and fun. Put on some comfortable shoes, because there will be some walking involved which is where the activity part comes into play.

I love this sport. In fact, this is one of the reasons I moved to Austin, Texas. With a college campus near by there is always a course somewhere close.

If you've never played before disc golf is pretty cheap to start playing. You can buy the discs new for about $4-15 dollars each, and you really only need two discs to start.

If this game seems like something you want to try, and I highly recommend it. Go to your local sports supply store and get a putter(usually a heavier, more steady flying disc)and a driver (a more streamlined disc, which is good for throwing over a greater distances).

Have fun!!!
